Imitation is the best form of flattery.

And those who have been to Portofino know this well. This little fishermen's town on the Italian Riviera is so beautiful that there are three replicas of the town around the world. It was crowned by the Romans as the Port of the Dolphins because of the abundance of dolphins in the area. It's close ties to the sea led to the submerging of the Christ of Abyss in 1954. A statue sits under 17 meters of water to protect fishermen and scuba divers. It's an #81 AbsoluteVisit.

Voted as one of the top 15 most beautiful places in wht world, this small Italian fishing village on the Italian Riviera was originally named Portus Delphini, or Port of the Dolphin, due to the large amount of dolphins that once inhabited the harbor.
Both Disney World Tokyo and Disney World Orlando have created full replicas of Portofino to reside within the parks.
The bay in Portofino houses the statue of the Christ of the Abyss, sunken to the ocean floor in 1954 to protect the fishermen and divers in the area. The statue is an image of Christ looking towards the sky with open arms to symbolize peace.
