Being in the middle of the Devil's Throat is actually a good thing.
Imagine standing 82 meters above a waterfall measuring 150 m wide and 700 m long. That's the Devil's Throat and it forms a natural boarder between Brazil and Argentina. In whichever country you're standing, it's impressive and beautiful. You're surrounded by natural forests and exotic animals – a tropical paradise background for all of the 275 waterfalls that stretch over 3 km of land. Be ready to get wet, but we don't suggest you go for a swim in these waters.
In stunning size, Iguaza falls is taller and twice as wide as Niagra falls. When First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt first laid eyes on it she said Poor Niagra.
The falls were formed by a volcanic eruption that left a crack in the earth. However old legend claims that a god tried to marry a woman against her will and she fled with her lover in a canoe on the Iguazu River. The god was so furious he split the river in half and created all the waterfalls to send the two lovers to a certain death.
The rainforest surrounding the falls is home to the only marsupial found outside of Australia: the opossum.
In one area on the edge of the falls, a person can be surrounded by 260 degrees of waterfalls.
In total, the Iguazu falls is made up of 275 waterfalls along the borders of Argentina and Brazil and it stretches for over a mile and a half (2.4 kilometers) long.
The falls were featured in the feature film Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

A lot of people reading this post probably have visited Niagra Falls in the US and I will tell those of you that have not also been to Iguazu – Niagra and Iguazu don’t belong together in the same sentence. Iguazu is massive; 275 waterfalls across almost... read more
