The walls run 1.24 miles around the city and continuously vary in width. They were first intended to protect the city, and today they tightly package a city with all its wonders, making it an AbsoluteVisit to check out. Also known as the "Pearl of the Adriatic," it used to be a competition to Venice. Today it's listed as a World Heritage Site for its unique artifacts, churches and colorful festivals.
