On a clear day, you can see the end of the world.

Or what feels like it. Without clouds, the Aran Islands in Galway Bay are visible from Ireland's most popular tourist destinations and our #96. The cliffs reach heights ranging from 394 ft. and 702 ft. before the plummet into the Atlantic Ocean. Made mostly of Namurian shale and sandstone, they are home to 30,000 birds, representing more than 20 different species.

These cliffs have made more films appearances than some movie stars, including: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Sense and Sensibility, and the Princess Bride.
The river channels that cut through these cliffs are over 300 million years old, and have been slowly shaping them the entire time.
The Cliffs of Moher are 702 feet (214 meters) high and span across eight miles (12.8 km) across the coast of Ireland.
The Cliffs of Moher are home to 30,000 birds from 29 different species.
The Cliffs were also the site for the cover art of U2s album No Line on the Horizon.
