Photo of the Day – Trailing into a Pacific Sunset – San Francisco, USA
I took this picture just 8 days ago in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. In the dozens of times I have been to San Francisco, I had never been to this part of Marin County (North of San Francisco … across the GGB) … which makes me mad now! This place is absolutely unbelievable and is one of the best ways to experience the beauty and grandeur of the Golden Gate Bridge along with the San Francisco Bay area in general. I know what you’re thinking through … where is the Golden Gate Bridge!?Well, my girlfriend Anne and I went up here on a chilly afternoon just in time to catch the Sunset and let’s just say that this might be one of the more boring pictures I captured. I am facing almost 180 degrees opposite of the Golden Gate Bridge. Almost dead-West for those of you that are not directionally challenged. If that doesn’t give you a feel for how incredible this place is … then I’m not sure what will!
Regardless, I love the little trail here as it leads you along the cliff and right into an amazing sunset.
