This is the Lotus Temple which is a Baha’i House of Worship. The temple is a magnificent piece of architecture residing in Delhi and is the main Baha’i house of worship in India. When I see this photo, it immediately makes me think of the
Sydney Opera House. There are amazing architectural similarities between the two buildings although they are thousands of miles away and serve very different purposes. The temple itself seems to be quite a big local tourist attraction and also holds religious services as well.
This was the most modern structure we saw in Delhi and was actually quite shocking to see along with the incredibly old Indian temples, palaces, and forts.
