Photo of the Day – Israeli Mediterranean Sunset – Tel Aviv, IsraelIsrael is often forgotten as a mediterranean sea sitting country. In fact, most people I have talked to didn’t even realize Israel had beaches. The truth is, Israel has some great beaches on both its Western Mediterranean Sea shore and its Southern Red Sea. It of ours has a 3rd Sea Shore, the Dead Sea, but I wouldn’t exactly call these beaches.
Regardless, we had a great view from our hotel (thanks Dor!) of this wonderful sunset in Tel Aviv. The water was calmly cruising into meet the Tel Aviv sand and then sun slowly disappeared deep into the Mediterranean Sea.
Photo of the Day – Warm Middle Eastern Sand – Tel Aviv, IsraelOnce your feet become so tired you are not able to take another step through the Old City in Jerusalem, hop in your car and make the quick one hour drive west to the relaxing beaches in Tel Aviv. The food is incredible, the bars are open late and you’re guaranteed to fall in love with the Mediterranean locals. Make sure to leave plenty of time to rest on your lounge chair watching the sunset in the distance over the sea into Europe.
Photo of the Day – Israeli Hummus – Tel Aviv, IsraelIf there is one thing that I learned while touring Israel, it’s that all hummus is not created equal. Compare the hummus in the picture below with the normal stuff you pick up at the grocery every week and I’m sure you will agree. The hummus in Israel is so good that I often found myself eating hummus as an entire meal, not just an appetizer or side.
Does anyone know of a place in Chicago that serves hummus like this?
