Photo of the Day – Sunrise Blast – Pigeon Point – St Lucia
While vacationing in St. Lucia last week for Thanksgiving, I talked my brother and his wife into waking up at four in the morning to watch the sun rising from the east over the island. The plan was to walk from our hotel to an old 18th century British fort on the ocean that provided elevated views back towards the sun, far above the rest of the island. Everything was going well until we discovered that the entrance to the fort was gated and we weren’t allowed to enter until 8am – after the sunrise. Luckily, all it took was a small ten-dollar bribe to the sleepy eyed security guard to open the gate and get on our way hiking through the dark black night to the top of the fort.
Photo of the Day – Tropical Island Exploration – Piton Mountains – St LuciaI spent Thanksgiving weekend this year with family on the beautiful island of St. Lucia in the Caribbean. On the first day of our trip we piled into a big van and spent the whole day driving down the western side of the island exploring all of the natural beauty this tropical paradise had to offer.
As we drove south along the coast, we stopped on a ridge with the perfect cutout view of the wondrous Piton Mountains. You’re actually able to climb the steep peak on the left, which I’m sure would yield some incredible views back up the island!
A big thanks to our tour guide “Danny Boy” for putting up with our family all day. We really enjoyed all of the local food that you bought for us every time something caught your eye that you knew we needed to try. The tour was top notch from start to finish and I highly recommend anyone looking for a tour of St. Lucia to check out – http://realstluciatours.com/. Yeah man.
