Photo of the Day – Soaked London Bridge – Great Ocean Road – Near Melbourne, Aus.The drive along the Great Ocean Road in Australia is full of scenic views that you have to pull over your rental car to the side of the road and check out. There are so many incredible lookouts, positioned one after another, that at times I felt like I was driving through a staged Disney attraction (in a good way). Check out this awesome erosion-carved rock floating off of the coast.
Photo of the Day – Graffiti Covered Streets – Melbourne, AustraliaEveryone loves to compare Melbourne to its bigger brother Sydney – just like Chicago to New York. On the surface, Melbourne doesn’t have near the appeal of Sydney, however there are a lot of great things that you see and experience as you navigate around the very walkable city. One of the things I enjoyed the most were the random alleys completely covered in graffiti. There was never anybody occupying these long stretches of concrete, while at the same time there was so much life in the color on the walls.
Photo of the Day – Great Ocean Road Cliffs – Near Melbourne, AustraliaThe Great Ocean Road is world famous for its coastal cliffs and cliff-islands (often referred to as the 12 apostles) that adorn the Southern Coast of Australia. While driving this incredible stretch between Adelaide and Melbourne, there are dozens of vistas including the one in today’s photo.
Believe it or not, the photo you see here is somewhat typical for this drive and will forever make you look at coast lines differently.
Now, if I could only find a way to build a cabin clinging to the side of this cliff! What a view.
Photo of the Day – Shree Ganesh Graffiti – Melbourne, AustraliaIf you have ever been to Sydney and then Melbourne, you know that Melbourne is the artsy sub-culture laden city while Sydney stands tall with all of its natural beauty and world famous sights. Before traveling to Melbourne, I had read about the street art in Melbourne and when we stumbled upon an amazing complete alley way of vibrant graffiti, we snapped this shot.
Most of the graffiti in Melbourne is not annoying and ugly random words, tags, and incomplete murals. Instead, they are complete works of art like this one of Shree Ganesha. You can also get a feel for the other graffiti to the left and right if you look closely.
Where in the world have you seen the best graffiti art?
