Photo of the Day – A Golden Gate Kinda Morning – San Francisco, USAThe sun is burning bright from the East as the dawn of a new day begins. My girlfriend Anne and I woke up around 4AM to make sure we caught this epic sunrise over the Golden Gate Bridge. I know I must sound like a broken record by now, but I love sunrises! There is something so special to me about waking up with a sunrise especially when you can have one as beautiful as this.
It was a Monday morning when I took this photo and as much as Monday mornings suck while driving into work, I can’t think of a better path to be driving in on. With the sun coming up over San Francisco to your left and the Pacific Ocean gaining light from the new born sun on your right you would be thinking about anything but work.
Photo of the Day – A Golden Gate Reflection – Baker Beach, San Francisco, USABaker Beach is a phenomenal lookout to one of the most famous bridges in the world, The Golden Gate Bridge. I had never been to Baker Beach prior to this trip, but I now consider it my favorite way to check-out the bridge and naturally highly recommend it!
The beach is fairly un-crowded which makes for easy walking, exploring and pretty much whatever else you want to do. Just be aware that Baker Beach is also known for tanning nude!
Enjoy the sites and one of, if not the most beautiful way to see one of the world’s most beautiful bridges.
Photo of the Day – A Golden Gate Sunset – San Francisco, CA, USAWith my first trip back to ‘The Bay’ in a couple of years, a walk along the bay was mandatory and, of course, I brought my camera. As I sat with Anne watching the sun dip further into the sea, the sun’s colors really began to come out.
I captured this photo using a medium shutter speed (1/30th of a second) sitting on top of my gorilla pod (a miniature and flexible tripod). What I love about this photo are the iconic Golden Gate cables and structure silhouetted against an intense orange and yellow sky. I also got lucky and captured a silhouetted couple in the very right of the photo which I think helped to tell ‘the story’ of this photo.
There are so many wonderful places to enjoy sunsets in San Francisco – where is your favorite?
