Will and I set off on a day trip in 2010 to tour the full island of Ko Samui, Thailand, on scooters. We had finished touring all of our planned sites when out of the corners of our eyes we caught this massive Buddha complex off the side of the road. We hit the brakes and headed over to check it out. We hadn’t heard of this place while researching the area. It appeared to be newly constructed and, frankly, it was in the middle of nowhere. A very weird religious site in my opinion, but the camera does not discriminate. I love this picture.
What is it about Buddhas that make them so photogenic?
