Within the Brooklyn Bridge Park area, there is a fantastic merry-go-round that is right on the East River banks between the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge. The merry-go-round is encapsulated by glass walls during the winter to allow it to remain fully functional. In the summer, the glass walls collapse to open the merry-go-round out to the elements.
The Brooklyn Bridge park is one of my favorite parks in New York City. In this picture, the bridge that you see is actually the Manhattan bridge as the Brooklyn Bridge is blocked by the merry-go-round.
