You really don’t get a sense for just how massive The Forbidden City is until you get inside and start walking around. The palace is made up of close to a thousand buildings spread out over 700,000 square meters right in the heart Beijing. While it is very difficult to ascertain the largest palace in the world, by many measures there is not a more grand complex anywhere in the world!
