Photo of the Day – Evil Orange Sunset – Poipu Beach – Kauai, Hawaii, USA

I took this photo while travelling to Kauai right in front of our hotel – the Sheraton, Poipu. We woke up early and headed down to the beach to welcome the sunrise and were unfortunately presented with an overcast and rain spitting morning.

After ducking for cover a few times, the rain let up just enough for me to dart out on to the beach. After a few snaps from the sand, I moved out into the water as the sun was just under the cloud cover and illuminate it with an intense orange.

What started out as a relatively disappointing morning quickly blossomed into one of the most beautiful sunrises I have seen!
