Photo of the Day – A Golden Gate Sunset – San Francisco, CA, USA

With my first trip back to ‘The Bay’ in a couple of years, a walk along the bay was mandatory and, of course, I brought my camera. As I sat with Anne watching the sun dip further into the sea, the sun’s colors really began to come out.

I captured this photo using a medium shutter speed (1/30th of a second) sitting on top of my gorilla pod (a miniature and flexible tripod). What I love about this photo are the iconic Golden Gate cables and structure silhouetted against an intense orange and yellow sky. I also got lucky and captured a silhouetted couple in the very right of the photo which I think helped to tell ‘the story’ of this photo.
