What is your favorite city?
No, it’s not New York, or Sydney or Hong Kong… it’s Rio de Janeiro. The Cariocas (the locals), the beaches, and the energy in the streets during Carnival are contagious and unique to this city. It’s something you have to experience and it truly makes the city feel alive.

Why do you love the Great Wall of China so much?
Everybody knows about The Great Wall of China, but only once you get there and you are standing in front of 4,000 km of hand-built wall do you even start to comprehend the immensity of it. In 2010 I made the 10km trek across the wall from Jinshangling to Simatai. The weather wasn’t great, the company was so-so (I was with Will!), everything was against it being the #1 AbsoluteVisit, but it left an unforgettable impression on me. Its ancient wonder still sends chills down my spine.

What is your favorite city?
Rio de Janeiro. It was a difficult question to answer, but I picked this city because it’s a 360° destination. It has everything you could ask for: beautiful landscapes, beaches, weather, culture, people, nightlife, festivals, and food. What more could you ask for?

Why do you love Angkor Wat so much?
Not only is it beautiful and packed full of history and culture, but there’s something magical about how the temple reflects in the waters at sunrise. It’s surrounded by other smaller temples and Siem Reap, the adjacent city, is full of exciting food, people and attractions.
